So in the past I've usually only posted like... once a year... so I'm going to try to post more often. Twice a year is the goal. :P
Just a couple things to talk about:
Student Answers
I have completely rewritten the way students / answers identifiers were stored. Without going too nerdy, originally it was set up so that was tied to the computer a student was on and to the time they were working.
Now it's set up so a student can start on their phone, move to their computer and then finish the next day at school all without losing progress. And with no login.
The only catch is that in order to make sure scores remain private, if a login is not during the same session it won't show the answers or scores. Instead it'll just show up gray.
I am still playing with code to optimize things and squash bugs. So if something isn't working right, please let me know.
Retrieving Assignments
I also changed the way distance learning assignments work if you're not logged in.
Before the assignment were tied to your computer and browser. So if for some reason your computer cleared cookies or you switched computers you'd be out of luck (unless you made an account and imported the assignments).
Now there is an option to set a password on an assignment. So if you ever need to retreive an assignment created when you weren't signed in now you have a way to do it.
Of course if you're logged in you don't have to worry about any of that.
Updates, Changes and Bugs
I'm always working and changing code behind the scenes, which unfortunately means sometimes bugs will crop up unexpectedly.
Usually I test and tweak stuff for months locally before uploading it to the site.
Then I test and tweak stuff on the server, but not publically.
And then once I'm satisified everything is working good, I release it publically... and usually the server load causes it to break. :/
And then it's back to square 1.
But regardless if you notice anything not working right in any part of the site or an idea to make things better, don't hesitate to let me know.
I may not be able to get to it right away, but I do try my best to accomodate most requests.
Typically if a reply is not right away, it's because I'm on a week(or 2) long coding-binge and I'm zoned in.
